‘The View’ Co-Host Sunny Hostin Claims: Jesus Would Attend a Homosexual Pride Parade

During Monday’s broadcast of the “The View,” co-host Sunny Hostin asserted that Jesus would attend a homosexual pride parade as she refuted a tweet from a Roman Catholic leader who advised that Catholics “should not support or attend” such events.

“My faith always taught me, ‘What would Jesus do?’ And I know Jesus would be attending that pride parade,” she claimed, according to video footage posted online.

“With pride,” co-host Whoopi Goldberg interjected.

“And I also know that God is love, and love is love,” Hostin stated. “And for a Catholic bishop to come out and say something like that, given the history of pedophilia in the Catholic Church, given what the Catholic Church has hidden about the abuse of children, some would say that being at a pride parade would be much safer for a child than it has been to be in a Catholic church for many years.”

The audience then broke into enthusiastic applause and Goldberg dinged the bell in front of her in support of the statement.

The matter began when Thomas Tobin, the “bishop” of Providence, Rhode Island, posted to Twitter on Saturday, “A reminder that Catholics should not support or attend LGBTQ ‘Pride Month’ events held in June. They promote a culture and encourage activities that are contrary to Catholic faith and morals. They are especially harmful for children.”

Hostin responded to the tweet the following day, “This practicing Catholic will be supporting and attending LGBTQ pride events. And so will my Catholic children. You should be ashamed @ThomasJTobin1.” Connect with Christian News

Her remarks drew mixed feedback, with some agreeing and others advising Hostin that her thinking is unbiblical. “God made us this way. God loves us this way. Thank you, Sunny!” one commenter wrote. “Right there with you, Sunny! Jesus taught love and acceptance, and that’s what we should be teaching our children. Period,” another asserted. “I’m a Bible believing Christian and nothing you stated is biblical!” a third exclaimed. “While we should be kind to homosexuals, we should not be celebrating their sinful/unrepentant lifestyle! The Bible states believers should not have close relationships with the world!”

“God’s love for all of us comes in the form of His Son’s sacrifice, so we may repent and have eternal life,” another explained. “Read what happened to #Sodom and #Gomorrah for their homosexual sin.” As previously reported, the Bible teaches that all men are born with the Adamic sin nature, having various inherent inclinations that are contrary to the law of God and being “by nature, the children of wrath” (Ephesians 2:3).

It is why Jesus outlined in John 3:5-7 that men must be regenerated by the second birth, and be transformed from being in Adam to being in Christ, or they cannot see the kingdom of Heaven. “Jesus answered and said unto him, ‘Verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.’

Nicodemus saith unto him, ‘How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb and be born? Jesus answered, ‘Verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, ‘Ye must be born again.’”

Romans 5:6-10 also explains that the love of God is demonstrated by Christ dying for His enemies so that they might be saved from the power of sin and the wrath of God.

“For when we were yet without strength, in due time, Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die, yet peradventure, for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commendeth His love toward us in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of His Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.”
