This movie AIMED at the Liberal jugular ... and still clinched Top 5

As the title implies, this movie was sent through the wringer to get into theaters for public view. A step beyond the call for Christian cultural consciousness, this movie AIMED at the Liberal jugular ... and still performed Top 5 against contemporaries. Snippets from continual CBN coverage below.

On 03-21-2019, Charlene Aaron wrote an article about the 'R' rating assigned to the pro-life movie "Unplanned" before its release in theaters 03-29-2019. (snippet below)

The film's writers and directors, Cary Solomon and Chuck Konzelman, who also wrote "God's Not Dead" and "God's Not Dead 2," believe the R-rating is purely political.

"Hollywood is about politics," said Solomon. It's not about making movies. It's sad. It's about propaganda with Hollywood. And we are pro-life guys in a pro-choice town..."

Konzelman commented, "We have three sequences in the movie that deal with the issue of abortion." We've had some political leaders, some faith leaders review the film and come out and give recommendation. Very recently Rev. Franklin Graham has come out strongly in support."

On 04-02-2019, after the movie released, Steve Warren reported the weekend Box Office results and interview with Abby Johnson.

Unplanned, the new movie that tells the true story of former abortion clinic director Abby Johnson, took 4th place at the box office on the movie's opening weekend.

....

It was the second-best opening weekend for a PureFlix film behind God's Not Dead 2 ($7.6 million), according to The Hollywood Reporter.

....

As CBN News reported, the film depicts Johnson's emotional decision to quit her job after watching an abortion via ultrasound.

"It's a little surreal, if I'm honest, to watch someone play out the worst version of yourself in a film," Johnson told CBN News during an interview on the set of the film.

"But it's also just a good reminder that God can literally use anything from our past and use it for his glory and use it for his kingdom," she added.

Solomon and Konzelman, who also wrote "God's Not Dead" and "God's Not Dead 2," believe with the passing of radical abortion laws in New York and other states, "Unplanned" is the right film "for such a time as this."
