Kim Kardashian Claims Blasphemous Husband Kanye West is ‘Born Again,’ Started ‘Sunday Service’ to ‘Heal Himself’

Reality TV star Kim Kardashian is claiming that her husband Kanye West, who has come to be known for profane and bizarre behavior — and who released the blasphemous rap album “Yeezus” in 2013 — is “born again” and “saved by Christ.” The statements were made during an interview on The View this past Friday as Kardashian explained the origin of her husband’s controversial “Sunday Service” gatherings, which she claims is actually “a Christian church.”
Kardashian, whose “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” reality television show is now in its 17th season, was asked about her husband’s Sunday Service, which has turned into “big weekly events” according to The View host. The closed invitation-only weekly services, which have attracted David Letterman and other Hollywood celebrities, have also led to festival appearances and pop-up shows in various cities.
“Kanye started this, I think, just to heal himself,” Kim stated during the interview. “It was a real personal thing, and it was just friends and family, and he has had an amazing evolution of being born again and being saved by Christ. People always ask, ‘Well, what are you worshiping?’ Or, ‘What is this?’ It is a Christian service, like a musical ministry. They talk about Jesus and God.” Kim stated that Sunday Service is mostly musical with ordained pastors coming through from time to time.
“For the most part, it’s just a musical ministry,” she said. “[Kanye] doesn’t have his 501(3)(c) [sic] yet to make it an official church, but it is for God and it is a Christian church.”
She added, “It started off healing for him and it’s become something that he really wants to share for everybody else.”
West, who is a friend and outspoken supporter of Donald Trump, made headlines at the end of last year for his bizarre and profanity-laced dialogue during a meeting with the president in the Oval Office, released the blasphemous “Yeezus” album in 2013. The controversial album, which contains one track titled “I Am a God,” features Kanye West stating, “I just talked to Jesus, and he said, ‘What up, Yeezus?’ And I said, ‘S**t, I’m chillin’.'”
Earlier this year, Kim Kardashian was on Jimmy Kimmel Live! show and was jokingly asked by its host Jimmy Kimmel, “Do you pray to Kayne or to God at this church?”
“There’s actually no praying; there’s no sermon; there’s no word; it’s just music and just a feeling,” Kardashian explained.
Later in The View interview, Kardashian spoke about the passing of her famous father, Robert Kardashian, who gained national recognition as O. J. Simpson’s friend and defense attorney during his 1995 murder trial — though not mentioned during the interview, and how she keeps “his spirit alive” by talking about him with her kids.
Kardashian also shared about how one of her sisters “struggles with meeting with mediums” following his passing, and how she “had an amazing experience, just feeling connected” in apparently taking part in some way.
Kardashian went on to express how she was impacted by the New Age book, “Embraced by the Light,” which surrounds a woman’s tale of a near-death experience — a book she says her late father tried to give her in high school to read, but never got around to until after his passing. The book’s author, Betty Eadie, believes that death is a spiritual “rebirth” where those who die “transition” to another state of being. Eadie rejects the Biblical teaching on a day of judgment, and instead believes that humans will judge themselves regarding their own spiritual evolution.
According to the Scriptures in Hebrews 9:26-28, “For then must [Jesus Christ] often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself. And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.”
